The SuiningFlight College of CAFUC is located in Suining, Sichuan, a central knot city of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. It serves as the core teaching and flight training base of the university. With approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in August 2012 and the base of the Suining Aviation Station, the campus began operations in March 2013. It is fully qualified to independently organize flight training and plays a crucial role in cultivating outstanding civil aviation flight professional.
SuiningFlight Collegetraces its roots to the 1stTraining Regiment of the 11thAviation Collegeof the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), which was established in 1953 (later reorganized as the 2ndTraining Regiment of the 11thAviation College). In 1958, it moved from Sanyuan, Shaanxi, to Guanghan, Sichuan, and became part of the 2ndTraining Regiment of the 14thAviation Collegeof the PLAAF, which is the root of today’s CAFUC. In July 1963, the regiment was relocated to Nanba Airport in Suining, Sichuan. In May 1992, part of the faculty of the 2ndTraining Regiment were transferred back to Guanghan, and the rest stayed to establish the Suining Aviation Station and manage Nanba Airport. During this period, we trained a significant number of talented flight professionals and management elites for China's civil aviation industry.
Today, the Suining Flight College boasts fully equipped teaching and training facilities, a solid safety foundation, and a harmonious cultural environment. The campus leverages its advantageous location and superior airspace and flight route resources to provide integrated training, including detachment-based, cross country flight and local flight training. The key feature of Suining Flight College is Full English Proficiency Teaching and its highly digitalized structure.
Thecollegehas invested heavily in its talent development system. By advancing the use of flight simulators, and promoting the CBTA education system, reforming flight theory courses, and developing ideological and political education programs, it has built a seamless capability training system that integrates "theory teaching – simulator training – flight practice." Additionally, it focuses on improving instructor qualifications and standardized briefing, forming a high-quality teaching team composed of dedicated flight instructors, check instructor and examiner. This ensures continuous improvement in teaching consistency and risk management. In recent years, the campus has made significant progress in key areas, such as the "quality-focused" action plan and strengthening the foundation for internationalized teaching, which has led to steady improvement in both teaching quality and student development.
In October 2023, thecollegesuccessfully relocated to Anju Airport in Suining. The new campus spans over 3,000 acres and can accommodate more than 600 students. It is equipped with 58 trainer aircraft, with an annual flight training volume of 70,000 hours. Leveraging superior airspace resources, operational facilities, and teaching conditions, the college has established an integrated training framework that encompasses primary- intermediate- advanced Pipeline (Single-Engine, Multi-Engine, High-Performance). Now, guided by CPC and the faith of"Setting Sail and Spreading Wings", the college is advancing its development of a first-class Flight College, actively expanding into new frontiers of the low-altitude economy, and writing a new chapter of high-quality development through responsibility, dedication, and solid achievements.
