Guanghan Flight College, adjacent to the headquarters of CAFUC, is located in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, with a profound history and a glorious mission. Its predecessor was the Second Flight Training Regiment of the 11th Aviation School of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (Air Force Combat Flight School), established in Sanyuan, Shaanxi Province in January 1953. In August 1958, it was placed under the 14th Aviation School of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and reorganized as the Second Training Regiment. Guanghan Airport, affiliated to Guanghan Flight College, was built during the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and made outstanding contributions to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War.

Guanghan Flight College demonstrates outstanding educational strengths, covering an area of 2.24 square kilometers, with more than 400 faculty and staff members. It is equipped with 72 full-spectrum trainer aircraft for primary, intermediate and advanced training, capable of training over 800 student pilots annually and logging more than 70,000 flight training hours per year. Since its establishment, it has successively used four airports—Sanyuan and Xianyang in Shaanxi, and Suining and Guanghan in Sichuan—as training bases, and has cultivated more than 20,000 pilots for the Air Force and civil aviation. It has nurtured a large number of outstanding flight professionals with both moral integrity and professional competence, such as Du Fengrui, an Air Force combat hero, and Liu Chuanjian and Wang Yixuan, heroic captains of China Civil Aviation. In addition, actively responding to the Belt and Road Initiative and the university’s requirements for international education, Guanghan Flight College has trained a large number of urgently needed civil aviation flight professionals for Vietnam, Laos, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Cambodia, Eritrea and other countries, and Hong Kong and Macao regions over the years, greatly enhancing its international level and influence.

Since its founding, Guanghan Flight College has always adhered to and strengthened the Party’s overall leadership, carried forward the red bloodline, and deeply engaged in talent cultivation. It has cultivated and created the "Red Wings, Far-Reaching Aspirations" Party building brand, promoted the implementation of the "all-round education" concept, and implemented the "Red Wings Program" for ideological and political education among student pilots, striving to cultivate a new generation of young people who can shoulder the important task of national rejuvenation. It has been awarded a number of prestigious honors, including the First-Class Merit Collective by the Ministry of National Defense, the "National Model Unit for Safe Flight" by the State Council, the "National Advanced Collective in Learning from Lei Feng", and the "Model Workers' Home" by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.

Currently, guided by the goal of "One High, Four Foundations", Guanghan Flight College is continuously advancing the reform of flight teaching and training and the supply-side reform of flight talent cultivation, contributing solid strength to building a strong transportation country in the civil aviation sector and promoting local social and economic development.
