Founded in April 1957, Xinjin Flight College is the earliest established Flight College of the university, with profound heritage and outstanding honors. Its predecessor was the First Training Regiment of the 14th Aviation School of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. The Xinjin Airport under its jurisdiction was built in 1929, serving as an aviation strategic base of the Eastern Front of the World Anti-Fascist War, an important air supply hub for the People's Liberation Army's march into Tibet, and the birthplace of civil aviation flight higher education under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The college has won many honors such as "National Civil Aviation Advanced Collective", "Civil Aviation Advanced Grassroots Party Organization", "National Civil Aviation Model Workers' Home", and "National Civil Aviation May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee".
Located in Xinjin District, Chengdu, Sichuan, the college covers an area of more than 4,100 mu. It is the only Flight College of the university that conducts both fixed-wing and helicopter pilot training simultaneously. The college operates 97 training aircraft of 11 types, equipped with 11 simulators, and has the training capacity to cultivate nearly 400 flight cadets annually with over 80,000 flight hours per year, laying a solid hardware foundation for the cultivation of flight professional.
As the birthplace of the civil aviation teaching philosophy of "Guiding Ideology, Teaching Skills, and Cultivating Style", the college fully implements the Party's educational policy, builds the "Three All-round Education" work system, implements the "Five Education Integration", adheres to "Cultivating Professionals for the Party and the Country", takes quasi-military management as the starting point, and strives to cultivate "Three Competent" professionals with political integrity, technical proficiency, and excellent work ethics, dedicated to fostering high-quality flight personnel. Since its establishment, the college has achieved more than 1.6 million hours of safe flight, trained over 8,000 flight professionals for China, and more than 80 flight personnel for foreign countries and Hong Kong, with widely recognized education quality.

It has trained over 230 composite helicopter flight personnel for the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the Ministry of Transport. It has successfully completed the qualification and capability assessment of 252 civil aviation helicopter captains nationwide to high standards, earning recognition from the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Upholding a strong sense of social responsibility, the college has repeatedly participated in regional emergency rescue and support missions, with its helicopter disaster relief team being honored as a "National Civil Aviation Advanced Collective for Earthquake Relief". Embracing the development of the low-altitude economy, its Zigong Training Base has made pioneering explorations in the integrated operation of manned and unmanned aircraft, creating a model for their coordinated operation in the same airspace and providing valuable experience for the national low-altitude economy development.
