As the former College of Flight Attendants, which had 26 years of expertise in flight attendant education, it was officially renamed the College of Humanities and Arts in 2025. Since its establishment, it has cultivated 15,000 outstanding flight attendants for China's civil aviation industry. Today, the college is primarily responsible for the development of humanities and arts disciplines, talent cultivation, and the integration of aesthetic education for the university.
The college currently employs approximately 60 faculty and staff members. It consists of teaching teams such as the Department of Arts, Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and Department of Flight Attendants, along with five administrative and service teams. It offers programs including the Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL), Aviation Service Arts and Management, Chinese Language and Literature, and Flight Attendant, with a total enrollment of nearly 2,000 students. Equipped with several provincial and municipal teaching and research platforms, and an advanced flight attendant training center, the college boasts excellent educational facilities.
Adhering to the Party’s educational principles, the college embraces the philosophy of "Promoting Virtue to Achieve Excellence, Advocating Culture and Art." It follows a development path that integrates "humanities with science, service with art, practice with theory". Grounded in the university and rooted in Southwest China, the college is oriented toward the civil aviation industry and committed to serving local communities. It focuses on cultivating outstanding professional in civil aviation cabin safety management and service, characterized by "artistic foundation, management methodology, and practical skills," and applied research professional specializing in "Chinese language, civil aviation, and cross-cultural communication."
The college continuously deepens its tailored training programs through industry-university collaboration and has established strategic talent cultivation partnerships with leading airlines such as Air China Limited, China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited, China Southern Airlines Company Limited, and Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd.
