College of Civil Aviation Safety Engineering was established in October 2016, which comprises eight academic departments andadministrative offices. The College is grounded in the Civil Aviation Flight University of China and rooted in the civil aviation, which embodies the motto "Safety Ensures Long-term Prosperity, Engineering Fosters Great Achievement". The college aligns with the national strategic needs in the civil aircraft industry and aiming at fields including civil aviation safety science & engineering, aircraft fire prevention & rescue and new energy aviation equipment.

The undergraduate program offers two Emerging Engineering majors recognized by the Ministry of Education in Safety Engineering and Fire Protection Engineering, along with one industry-education integration major in New Energy Science & Engineering, of which the Fire Protection Engineering program achieved the "Excellent" rating in the Ministry of Education's Emerging Engineering program accreditation. The College offers an Academic Master's programs in Safety Science & Engineering and two Master of Engineering program in Resources & Environment (safety engineering research direction) and Energy Power (clean energy technology research direction).

The College has established teaching and research institutions, including first provincial-level Academician Workstation named as the Aircraft Fire Prevention and Rescue Academician Workstation, Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Civil Aircraft Fire Science & Safety Engineering, Sichuan Provincial Engineering Research Center for Key Technologies of All-Electric General Aviation Aircraft, Sichuan Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Aviation Fuel Storage, Transportation Safety & Quality Testing and Civil Aviation Administration Fundamental Technology Research Base. Additionally, the college has built two scientific research platforms, including High-Plateau Aviation Safety Laboratory jointly established with Tsinghua University and Civil Aviation Aircraft Fire Prevention & Rescue Research Institute.

In recent years, the College has been awarded the honorary titles such as the "National May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee", the "National Civil Aviation May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee", the "National Heritage Base for Academic Culture", the "Youth Civilization Unit of the Southwest China Region of Civil Aviation". Meanwhile it has been honored with one first prize and one second prize for provincial/ministerial-level scientific and technological achievements. and one first prize and one second prize for provincial/ministerial-level teaching achievements.The students have been recognized with 56 awards in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, including 16 national level and 40 provincial level honors.
