WELCOME TO College of Aviation Engineering

College of Aviation Engineering (CAE) is one of the main colleges in China's civil aviation sector dedicated to cultivating high-caliber and versatile maintenance engineering and technical professional. Adhering to the educational philosophy of "well-rounded development, broad foundational knowledge, emphasis on practice, and strong capabilities" CAE has established a comprehensive disciplinary and professional system. Currently, the college offers three master's degree programs: a Master's degree program in Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology (first-level discipline), and master's degree programs in Mechanical Engineering and Materials and Chemical Engineering. It also provides five undergraduate programs: Aircraft Power Engineering, Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering, Aircraft Design and Engineering, Aircraft Airworthiness Technology, and Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. Additionally, it offers a specialized program in Aircraft Electromechanical Equipment Maintenance. The college has a student body of over 3,400 individuals. CAE actively promotes international education initiatives, engaging in "2+2" and "3+1" joint undergraduate programs with institutions such as Clover Park Technical College (United States), Swansea University (United Kingdom), and Aviation Technical Training (ATT) College of Aircraft Engineering (Germany). Additionally, under the Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering program, CAE receives international degree-seeking students from multiple countries along the Belt and Road, fostering China-foreign exchanges and promoting Chinese civil aviation standards.

CAE boasts a strong and highly qualified faculty. Currently, it has over one hundred theoretical instructors, more than 50% of whom hold senior professional titles, and over 70% possess doctoral degrees. The faculty includes two National Excellent Teachers, one provincial/ministerial-level Teaching Master, and five provincial/ministerial-level professionals. Additionally, the college is home to several high-quality teaching teams, such as "Blue Sky Award" Outstanding Team (the Civil Aviation Administration of China, CAAC) and the Sichuan Provincial Excellent Teaching Team. Dozens of faculty members have achieved outstanding results in provincial/ministerial-level teaching competitions, providing a solid foundation for high-quality education.

CAE has achieved significant milestones in education and teaching. The major of Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology has been selected for the Sichuan Provincial "Double First-Class" Construction Gongga Plan. The major of Aircraft Power Engineering has been included in the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Initiative" and recognized as a Sichuan Provincial First-Class Major. The project "Exploration and Practice of an Industry-Education Integration Collaborative Education Model for Civil Aviation Maintenance Majors in the Context of New Engineering Disciplines" received approval under the Ministry of Education's second batch of New Engineering Disciplines initiatives. Eight courses, including "Aircraft Powerplant" have been rated as provincial/ministerial-level first-class courses. Additionally, nearly 20 professional textbooks and academic monographs have been compiled and published. The college has also won over 10 teaching achievement awards from Sichuan Province and the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

CAE boasts a well-established experimental platform system. Focusing on fundamental theories and key technologies in areas such as smart operation and maintenance of civil aircraft, advanced green aircraft and powerplant technologies with airworthiness considerations, aviation emergency rescue and comprehensive support technologies, and safety and airworthiness of low-altitude aircraft, the college has established nearly 20 teaching and research laboratories in key fields. These include civil aircraft composite material maintenance, aero-engine maintenance and control, general aviation maintenance technology, aircraft structure and systems, airworthiness verification and certification, aviation emergency rescue, aviation materials, mechanical simulation, aviation coating, and UAV design and safety. The system is equipped with over 100 million RMB yuan worth of research equipment and occupies more than 10,000 square meters of experimental space. Notable facilities include three provincial/ministerial-level research platforms: the Key Laboratory of Aviation Rescue under the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Sichuan Provincial General Aviation Maintenance Technology Engineering Center, and the Civil Aviation Science and Technology Innovation "Basic Technology Research Institute" Center for Intelligent Maintenance and Verification Technology of Civil Aircraft Composite Materials, which is recognized as one of the Civil Aviation Administration's Four-Type Research Institutes. Additionally, there are two Deyang Municipal Key Laboratories, such as the one for Smart Operation and Maintenance of Aero-Engines, and five university-level key laboratories. These resources provide solid support for the college's scientific research innovation and talent cultivation.
